ReplyDeleteWhile it's not the first vampire movie to be set in the Southwest U.S.--it was preceded by Kathryn Bigelow's NEAR DARK (1987), among others--SUNDOWN: THE VAMPIRE IN RETREAT is perhaps one of the first to suggest that vampires could safely venture out into the light of day using sunscreen and big cowboy hats.

ReplyDeleteI watched 'Sundown' for one reason only - David Carradine and Bruce Campbell are in it. And really that is the ONLY reason to watch this mediocre so-called "horror comedy". I usually avoid that genre because movies described as such are generally neither scary or amusing, and 'Sundown' is no exception.
